Basel is full of museums. We have listed some of those that might be of interest to you here.
In the building of the medieval paper mill, the museum leads over four floors through the history of the paper, the writing and book printing up to the finished book.
Fondation Beyeler (Riehen):
The collection of the Fondation Beyeler in Riehen comprises 320 works of classical modernism and the present. It is the most visited art museum in Switzerland and is considered as one of the most beautiful in the world.
Historical Museum of Music Basel:
The Historical Museum of Music Basel has with over 3,000 instruments the largest collection of musical instruments in Switzerland. The permanent exhibition in the Music Museum presents around 650 instruments on three floors. Twenty-four former prison cells serve as exhibition cabinets in which numerous music examples and further information can be selected by means of an interactive screen program.

The Kunstmuseum Basel exhibits art from the Middle Ages to the present in three houses.
